Victor is a big ol' boy, but he doesn't seem to realize it!
Victor was under-socialized as a puppy and will need a patient and understanding family to help him acclimate to a new home. Victor spent most of his teenage months in a home, where he lived with another small dog and a big family. But Victor lacked some much-needed structure early on and as a result can be pretty wary when it comes to new people. Once he gets to know you, he is a goofy, playful boy who loves to give hugs - you may find this leggy boy might even be taller than you!
Victor walks right by your side on walks and is incredibly affectionate to his human BFFS. He loves nudging his head into your hands for pets and leaning up against you for some belly pats. He's honestly a big baby and if you sit down, he'll try to sit in your lap too.
Victor has that BDE and can be jumpy and mouthy when he gets overstimulated - we admit this can be a lot to manage, especially with such a big boy! We know from his short-term fosters that Victor is very respectful in a home environment once he's beyond that initial excitement and is relaxed and comfortable when you are - he takes cues from his handlers very well.
Victor is looking for a dog-experienced household, preferably with large dog experience, to help him be the best he can be. He can be a lot of dog at times and wouldn't recommend him for a first-time dog owner. Although he is overall a sweet boy that lacks confidence, he has much of his basics down and would benefit from a gentle hand to help him settle into a home.
Victor is a good boy and just needs a chance to prove it to you! Adopt Victor!
