Camp Underdog

Animal Haven has just launched our newest enrichment program, Camp Underdog! Our goal is always to adopt animals out to loving homes as soon as possible, but the unfortunate reality is, some dogs stay in the shelter much longer than we’d like. And no matter how comfortable and happy we try to make their stay, shelter stress is inevitable.

With our new program, Camp Underdog, we’re giving our long-timers a break from shelter life by taking them on mini-trips outside of NYC. Animal Haven staff packs their bags and takes dogs upstate, to enjoy hiking, swimming, playing, and sometimes even camping. It’s remarkable to see a dog transform in a matter of hours as they enjoy the freedom of the idyllic country setting.
