When Boomer arrived at Animal Haven, he was nearly hairless. With rough, flaky skin and watery eyes, it was hard to believe that he was a Shiba Inu, purchased from a pet store as a puppy many years ago. Boomer had been living in pain and discomfort for 6 long years.
Our veterinary team treated his immediate discomfort while moving toward longer-term treatment plan for his severe allergies. While we waited on test results and a plan, we kept Boomer comfortable with medicated baths and a carefully-managed diet to calm flare ups. Through it all, Boomer was incredibly sweet and gentle.
Thankfully, it wasn't long before Boomer's new family came along and fell in love with him. While he still has some progress to make in the fur department, he's already unrecognizable. Most importantly, he is safe, loved, and finally home.
