Why adopt one three-legged pet when you could adopt TWO?
That’s exactly what the adopters of Sushi (the dog) and Poseidon (the cat) did!
Sushi came to Animal Haven with multiple fractures in her right hind leg. After being transferred to our emergency vet, it was determined that amputation of the leg would give Sushi the best chance at a healthy life. Following a few weeks of recovery in our care, Sushi was adopted!
Just a few months later, her adopters spotted Poseidon—a three-legged cat who had been found as a stray in Brooklyn. As fate would have it, both Sushi and Poseidon are missing the same leg!
Their adopter shared: “Sushi went on her first hike (loved it!), her favorite treat is apples but she will beg for anything she can eat, and she’s obsessed with her brother (and he’s gone from tolerating to playing with her from time to time!)
Poseidon’s favorite play spot is a cardboard box he won’t let us throw away, he’s slowly becoming more affectionate and personable (he LOVES head scratches), and he loves to play with the laser pointer.”
