Thank you for submitting your Adoption Interest Survey!
We are thrilled that you are interested in adopting from Animal Haven (located at 200 Centre St. in New York, NY) and look forward to helping you find your new best friend!
We have walk-in hours every Tuesday-Friday between 2-6pm.
Appointments are available outside of those hours and can be made through your inquiry.
Please be aware that THE FORM YOU JUST FILLED OUT IS NOT AN APPLICATION but merely a show of interest. Our staff will respond to your inquiry with more information on the animal and with next steps. If you chose to schedule an appointment, they will be able to schedule that for you upon correspondence.
Please check your email to ensure you received a confirmation – check your spam folder too – otherwise staff may be unable to contact you.
What to prepare before your visit:
Masks are optional to the public. All staff and volunteers at Animal Haven are completely vaccinated.
If after meeting the animal at our facility you wish to apply for them, you’ll be able to fill out our adoption application in-person.
On the adoption application, we ask for a personal reference, (this can be anyone that does not live in the same household as you) who can attest to your ability to care for a pet. If you currently have a pet, we will ask for your current vet’s information.
For dog adopters only: We ask for your building information to make sure you are allowed to have dogs in your apartment. This information can be in the form of a lease, the phone number of your leasing office, landlord, super or property website. If you own your home, we will require proof of ownership.
If you are looking to adopt a dog, we ask that all members of the household be present to meet the dog (or will be able to come down to meet the dog shortly after). This includes other dogs in the household. This is the best way to ensure that your furry companions will have a happy, peaceful relationship.
If you have a cat currently and are looking to adopt another cat, we ask for you to provide your cat’s SNAP test which can verify their FIV/FeLV status.
Cat adoptions can often be processed same-day (provided we are able to get in touch with your references and the cat is medically cleared). Dog adoptions may take a few days or a few visits.
Adoption Fees:
- $175 per cat over 1 year of age
- $200 per kitten or $300 per pair (Why Two Kittens Are Better Than One)
- $295 per dog over 1 year of age (includes collar and leash)
- $395 per dog 4 months to 1 year of age (includes collar and leash)
- $450 per puppy 4 months and under (includes collar and leash)
Animal Haven’s adoptions fees include spay/neuter, core vaccinations, and microchip.
Thank you very much and we look forward to meeting you!
Sincerely,
Animal Haven Adoptions Team
