Duke

Duke may be small, but he has a big personality hiding beneath that adorable tuxedo coat. When you first meet him, he can be unsure—he’s been through a lot lately!. He may get hissy in a cute attempt to scare you, but the reality is he’s just trying to figure out whether the hand approaching him is kind or not. But the funny thing about Duke is how quickly that uncertainty can melt away with a little patience. After just a jew days of consistent socialization, he starts to realize that people can be pretty great. Before long, he’s accepting pets while he continues deciding if you’re officially safe. Once Duke begins to trust you, his curious nature really starts to shine. He likes to observe what’s going on around him and quietly investigate the world at his own pace. While he isn’t very playful right now, we suspect that as he grows more comfortable and confident, his curiosity will turn into more playful moments. Duke may also benefit from having a confident feline companion in the home. A friendly cat who can show him the ropes and help him feel secure could go a long way in helping him continue to build trust. With a little patience and understanding, Duke blossoms into a sweet and endearing companion. For someone willing to give him the time he needs, watching him grow more confident day by day will be incredibly rewarding.
