Dana and her sibling Fox were found under a car uptown, just under a month old with no mother in sight. A good Samaritan who heard their cries brought them to Animal Haven, where they were sent into a loving foster home. These little kittens still needed round-the-clock care, needing feedings every 5 hours.
Once they came of age, we sadly discovered that Dana is FIV+, something she likely inherited from her mother. We will be retesting them in a few weeks to confirm the diagnosis. Cats with FIV can still live long lives despite their condition and it is only transmittable to other cats through deep bite wounds. Contact Animal Haven for more information on Dana or what life is life with an FIV!
