Marceline

Marceline’s story began in an unexpected place: she was found hiding in the garden of a luxury apartment building in Dumbo, Brooklyn. A concerned dog walker reached out to several organizations for help, and when no one else was able to step in, Animal Haven came to her rescue. Marceline was understandably confused and hesitant to leave the place she made home over four cold nights, but it was clear she needed help. We don’t know exactly where Marceline came from, but we believe she likely once had a home before finding herself navigating the busy streets of New York City alone. Because of this, she can be a bit shy at first and may need some time and patience to build trust with new people. Once she begins to feel safe, Marceline’s personality starts to shine. She’s curious about the world around her, playful when the mood strikes, and very appreciative of treats. With a little time and a patient adopter who will let her adjust at her own pace, Marceline has all the makings of a wonderful companion. Marceline would do best in a home that understands that trust takes time—but for someone willing to give her that change, she’ll be a very special cat to watch blossom.
