Little Pipa was dumped over a fence in Antigua with her siblings at just a few weeks old, orphaned and unwanted. When her rescuers found them, they saw poor little Pipa was struggling to walk and stand. Once taken to the vet, they determined that her spine was fractured. Pipa appears to be partially paralyzed from the waist down, though she still kicks her little back legs when supported. It's unclear how exactly she was injured - we'll never know if it was the fall from the fence or something else entirely.
Pipa has proven to be a spunky and vibrant puppy, with a zest for life and a drive to move! She's got a long road ahead of her but we're so thankful to be able to give this sweet girl a chance she otherwise would not have had in Antigua.
Our girl has been starting regular physical therapy sessions where she is building her muscles and getting those legs of hers moving! While the future of her mobility is still uncertain, we're trying to give her the best chance possible to live a normal life.
Pipa is a special girl that just needs a little extra care. Contact Animal Haven for more information on her condition.
