The G pups have really been through a lot in their few months of life. When we pulled this adorable litter from an overcrowded shelter in the south, we truly didn't know what were getting ourselves into. Just a day after their arrival, the puppies grew lethargic and one by one, started showing grave signs of sickness. The entire litter tested positive for the deadly parvovirus, a life-threatening illness for under-vaccinated puppies unless they are given round-the-clock supportive care. Thankfully, we caught it early and rushed the tiny pups to our emergency vets before it was too late. After days in the ICU, despite all odds, we're relieved to report that every single one made a full recovery! We are so incredibly thankful that each resilient puppy from this litter made it through the worst and they are finally ready to start their lives anew. While they are now out of the woods and back to their normal puppy antics, future adopters should be mindful of a few things. Most importantly, parvovirus is highly contagious to unvaccinated dogs so they can't be in contact with other puppies or unvaccinated dogs for at least 1 month, as they will be shedding the virus during this time. It'll be a couple of weeks for them to get up to date on vaccinations so they cannot go for walks outside for a little while either!
