Pixie

Tiny Pixie was attacked by another dog—twice—at just 4 months old. At only 3 pounds, it was a miracle she survived the encounters. This attack happened while she was recovering from another severe injury from the same dog on her flank, which became necrotic.

Poor Pixie was surrendered to Animal Haven after her owner had exhausted all resources, gone to multiple vets, and determined they were unable to provide her the care she needed to recover. She wanted to give Pixie the chance to survive and a better home. Despite the pain she must have been in, Pixie was incredibly sweet and trusting. She was patient with her bandage changes, took her antibiotics like a champ, and was been just an absolute angel with her caretakers.

Pixie ended up stealing the heart of a vet tech, who eventually made things official! She shared, “Miss Pixie is doing great! She is traveling all over the city with me and regularly hangs out with her puppy friends. Her personality has blossomed and she fits right in. She is growing closer to my family every single day.”
